First Comes Love....

Then comes marriage....this weekend Dean's niece Jena got married! We had a fin time celebrating with family.
Then comes the baby in the baby carriage....No baby for Jena and Kurt yet, but there is a new cousin for Jena and gang! Dean's brother Dan and his wife had a baby boy, Noah James, on Sunday morning! (8lbs. 11oz. 20 1/2in.) Zach isn't the baby of the Ski's anymore. :)

Summer Grins 2009

July 17-19 - the Grin family all got together. It had been since Christmas so we were all glad to get to see each other again! Zach also got to meet his Great Grandma and Great Aunt Ivy for the first time. We had lots of fun just hanging out, playing HORSE, Baseball, shooting 22, bonfires etc.
It makes me so sad to have to wave good bye to my brothers, wish they were closer so we could see them more often.

Independence Day 2009

We had a wonderful celebration with all our family this 4th. Grammy & Gramps came up and we went to the parade with all the Ski's and then to the fair for some more fun!
Later the Ski family had a pig roast picnic in Gramma B's backyard. Mmmm...Good. We ended our celebration by watching the fireworks!

Birthdays, Birthdays, and more Birthdays!

So it's been awhile, but we just can't seem to stop celebrating birthdays long enough for me to post anything. This shows some pics from some of the parties.
How many birthday spankings you ask?
Daryl got 32! (I'm sure that hurt!)
Austin, 13 (just enough to keep him out of trouble)
and Amber 5 (getting ready to go to Kindergarten!)

Grin Genetics

After proving my point that Zach really looks like his Daddy, I thought I would show how he resembles his mother's side as well. I really see the likeness in old pictures of Uncle Wade. So I guess Zach is truly a good combination of his parents. A Grinski.

Looking Baaack...

My dad was reminiscing and looking at old photos...this one is a fun memory and something that I always enjoyed in the spring of the year. Lambing. All those cute little lambs to snuggle and bottle lambs to feed. This photo of Wade and I was taken in 1983. Aren't we cute? :)

Ski - Seasons Greetings 08!

The Ski side had a noisy celebration on the 27th. I was able to snap a few pictures, but it was pretty crazy! The neices in the 4-6 yr old category were going non stop! Good to see just about the whole crew, though it is hard to cram 40+ people in a house together. :)

Train Tradition

One of our long time traditions is attempting to catch the train at this old bridge near the Grin farm. So on Friday Ross, Sheila, Deano and I made our way to the bridge. It is always fun to feel the rush of the train rumbling underneath you. And as usual we got a wave and a whistle from the train engineer. This summer they closed the road to the bridge and sounds like they will be tearing it down. So we felt we should take advantage of our fun adventure spot in case it is our last.

Grin Christmas 08

We had a wonderful get together at the Grin farm on Christmas day. And Zach got to meet Uncle Ross for the first time. We were so glad to Ross and Sheila again! We stayed at the farm and visited with them for a couple days. And as you can see we had fun Celebrating!

Brothers - Smokin'

This weekend some of Dean's brothers decided to make some deer sausage with some of the deer they got during this current deer season. So they gave Dean's new smoker a big trial run by smoking about 120 lb. of sausage. All went well and it tastes great! Everyone was pleased with the results. Mmmm...Good! Clownin' Around

To add to the long weekend excitement we went down to have some fun with the Grin family. They had a local parade and other community events. Ross entertained us as usual with his fun games. This time he dug out his clown costume and made some balloon animals. It was so nice to see him again! Dad had a fun reunion revival of the Farmers Four quartet that he sang with for high school. They sounded good and even had the nice vests and hats to add to the show!

Let Freedom Ring!

On the 4th we took in the local parade and fair with some of the Ski family. As you can see all the nieces had a blast with the parade and games at the fair. It was very hot though and we were glad to sit in the shade as much as possible. Later the girls had their own parade in Grandma and Grandpa's yard. We ended the night watching the beautiful fireworks!

Daryl's Birthday #31

Daryl's birthday landed on Good Friday this year. So there were lots of family around to have a gathering. We had a good time although I was not feeling the best that day. The little girls had fun taking turns blowing out the birthday candles.
