Memorial Weekend Family Fun

Despite the rainy and windy weather we had a fun little get together on Sunday with the cousins. The wind did die down and rain was reduced to sprinkles so the kids did have some fun outside too.

Silly Snapshots

Around here even dog food is delivered by loader tractor.

Best Buds

Fixing up dog house for Dot. Z and his silly faces!

Good laughs!

Spring Things!

Here is a little picture story of what has been happening around here. It seems we are busy but nothing to out of the ordinary to tell.
Enjoying the first flowers -mini irises.

Lots of bike and dog time!

Trees are blossoming - wind and rainy weather!

Getting started on the planting - potatoes, radishes, onions, carrots all in the ground and enjoying the taste of our spinach and asparagus.

Fun birdies at the feeders. 2 Oriole males have been hanging out, along with lots of goldfinches, sparrows and woodpeckers.

Dottie finds a Home

Our newest addition to our home....Dottie. We adopted her late Feb from the local pound. She is a 7 month old black lab/german shepherd mix (at least that is our guess). As you can see Zach and her are buddies and they spend many hours together running, chasing and just plain acting silly. There is a snuggle here or there too. We are enjoying her company and working on keeping things from getting chewed and dig up! It is amazing what dogs can find.
A little story on Dottie:
After having her around for about 3 weeks, one evening Dottie just disappeared around supper time. We couldn't find her anywhere.
We called neighbors. Called and called for her around the place, drove around with the 4 whlr which is always sure to bring her out of hiding. But no Dottie. We finally had to call it quits for the night.
The next morning I went out to drive around to look for her. Nothing. Then as I got back and put the vehicle away, Dean called out the window to me, "Found her!"
She was in one of Dean's live traps only 30 feet from the house. I would have never guessed she could fit in there! And she never made a peep when we called for her!
I would guess she has learned her lesson. The next time we can't find her, you know where we will check first!
